Open Question: we are having a destination wedding with zero guests - a 'reception' question?

I've put 'reception' in brackets because it is not a wedding reception, no cake cutting, first dance (but we will be having a live band) bouquet toss but just a chance to celebrate with close family and friends. Both our intermediate family are fine with us getting married at our honeymoon destination. We will be having a get together / meal at my parents place before we go with close friends and family and after our wedding / honeymoon we would like to throw a cocktail party with a larger guest list (nothing ott guests list wise) Dress shopping etc I'm being helped by my mother and sister. They are still having a say and getting involved - neither of us are bothered by what flowers and how our hair / makeup will be - so both sets of our family are having a ball getting so much freedom from the B&G. We have thrown our fair share of cocktail parties, so it's nothing new to our friends and family, and it's not going to be decorated like a reception but we are having doubts about doing it all together because we we feel this would make it seem like we are gift grabbing or make our guests feel like they have to give us 'wedding gifts / cards' We would just like our guests to see this as any other 'party' but with an added celebration because we are married. We do not want 'gifts / cards' FWIW: Please no rude comments about ‘snubbing’ our friends and family by getting married on our own because all those that matter (and some) are fully behind us. Thanks guys. We weren't planning on calling it a resection at all but a party.

Open Question: Why do I have recurring dreams about a vampire?

A couple nights ago, I dreamed about a vampire. The dream started out with me being in my room. I'm asleep in my dream, then I suddenly sit up, wide awake. I'm still in bed but the room is different--it looked like a room in a really old castle. Stone floor, stone walls, four-poster bed, dust and cobwebs, the whole shebang. At the other end of the room opposite my bed is a lady in a chair. Long, black hair, pale-white skin, white wedding gown stained with blood, red eyes, black lips--red around the corner, and she's holding a bouquet of wilted, blackened roses. From her looks, I know she's a vampire. And I feel drawn to her--but knowing what she is, I don't move. I just stay in bed for fear of my life (and soul of course). For a long time in my dream, she's just there, sitting in her chair--looking at me. Then towards the end of my dream, she gets up, makes her way to the bed and kisses me. And despite my fear of her, I **** her. Then she bites me, sucks my blood, and turns me. And she was in another dream of mine. She's a recurring character in my dreams! In that dream, I was on a date with this girl--who's human, of course, and we were at this nice restaurant. And our table was near the window. Suddenly, something makes me look out the window, and lo and behold! She's standing there across the street, same attire, same looks. Long, black hair, black lips, red eyes, blood around her lips, pale-white skin, bloody wedding gown, and a bouquet of blackened, wilted flowers. And she looks dejected, broken-hearted. And she shakes her head at me. Then a vampire hunter comes and kills her and she doesn't resist. She doesn't fight him. It's like she lost interest in living (her undead life) anymore. What could that mean? I need SERIOUS answers, people! SERIOUS! I do not read or watch Twilight and I DO NOT have sex with a blowup doll. I have an ex (who still remains a friend of mine) who I call once in awhile, and whom I dubbed my "f_ck buddy." I do not need a ******* blowup doll! And I have a social life and DO GO OUT in the ******* sun! I was the ******* star quarterback in high school and banged the ******* cheerleaders and am a ******* third degree blackbelt. Seriously, people! Enough with the insults and the sarcasm! I've had it! I need serious answers--this dream is haunting me even in my ******* waking hours!

Open Question: What is the history of the wedding bouquet?

I am currently planning my wedding and in the course of looking at pictures for ideas, I start to question why a bride has the flowers to begin with. Why do the bridesmaids and bride carry flowers down the aisle?

Open Question: Silk flowers? Would this look dumb?

We are having an outdoor ceremony and I'm very allergic to bees to the point where I have an epipen. Would it look dumb to have silk bouquets then real flowers at the indoor reception? Or is there something we could do with the flowers so that bees wouldn't be attracted to them? Cost isn't an issue I just don't want to end up in the hospital on my wedding day. Also where can you purchase nice looking silk flowers?

Open Question: Would Champagne and Red be pretty wedding colors?

Im getting married in June 2011. I love neutral wedding colors, like nude, beige, champagne. However, my fiancee loves rich colors like red, deep purple. I was thinking maybe i can combine our favorite color and make my bridesmaids wear champagne/gold dresses and red roses bouquets. maybe my MOH would wear red dress. As far as flower arrangements I was thinking red roses.

Open Question: Ideas for a simple but nice/elegant wedding for about 20 people?

I live in the Atlanta, GA area. If the location is between Atlanta and Chattanooga, that's acceptable. Looking for ideas outside the box. Time of year: Fall Budget: $1,800 would prefer if it's closer to $1,000. Ceremony location: scenic - garden, park, etc. Atlanta botanical gardens waaayyyy too expensive, but that's the idea. Do community parks/gardens usually set up chairs for us? It's real non-traditional. No cake necessary. No registries, party favors, etc necessary. No wedding attendants (brides maid, groomsmen, etc) No need to pay for officiant - we've got that covered. Somewhere nice for dinner/brunch/afterward within a 15 minute drive of ceremony location. If the place had live entertainment, that would be awesome. No "have wedding at home" answers. I don't feel like it's nice enough for me to get dressed up and all prettier than I'll ever be just to have a wedding/reception at home. I can always have a party at our home for friends an family, but I want this to be a bit nicer.I don't want to have to be concerned about coordinating different vendors - the tent people, the food people, etc. to bring stuff to the house. That's more hands on planning than I really want. I'm hoping to do my bouquet and his boutonniere on my own. Looking fwd to that actually. I plan to get the flowers from a supermarket and make a nice cascade bouquet. :D So far I've looked into Golf courses. Which I really like the idea, and the price, I thought was reasonable-she worked with us to be able to have ceremony and reception+food for just under $1800. Wondering why I'm still asking? Because has has brought up the "at home" idea, and I'd prefer to have many options/suggestions for when I try to debunk that idea. Maybe my dress will give you an idea of my style: http://www.bestbridalprices.com/bari-jay-white-wedding-dresses-style-2010-p-54731.html?cPath=1&designers=18

Open Question: You are to pick 20 flowers from a garden?

You are to pick 20 flowers from a garden for a bouquet. There are 6 kinds of flowers in the garden and more than 20 of each kind. All flowers of the same kind are considered to be the same, for instance, all roses are considered indistinguishable. If you must have at least 1 flower of each kind in the bouquet, how many different bouquets can you make? I have the solution but I do not understand how my prof got to that answer.
